First and foremost, Worthy Detours is all about the USA. We love America, its heritage and those mom-n-pop businesses that are the backbone of this great country.
We are a travel blog providing you with information about "cool places just off the beaten path" that are worthy of your time to stop. These stops could be one-day excursions, long road trips, or places you visit when fulfilling your bucket list. It could also be places you drive by on a daily commute but have never taken the time to stop.
Worthy Detours tells you about places to dine and about places to stay where you’ll want to linger or return for another stay. Also included are places to play, learn, or just relax a bit.
As we visit these locations, photographing and writing about our experiences there, you will be able to virtually meet with the locals and experience their uniqueness and charm.

Tom Simpson
Tom is a professional photographer, trained at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida and further refined in the art programs at the University of Tennessee and Brigham Young University.
As the creative mastermind behind the camera, Tom’s talent goes way beyond snapshots. He has an incredible eye for framing a shot allowing him to capture something unique and beautiful to share with the world.
He never leaves home without camera bag in hand whether it’s stopping the car along the roadside near home or out trekking across a field in some remote location during his travels.
Tom owns Tom Simpson Photography located in Tallahassee, Florida. Tom and Jeanette recently published their 1st book together, “Seasons of Nauvoo: Year long Imagery of the City Beautiful.”

Jeanette is the writer-administrator of four separate blogs related to photography, design, and travel. She is also the author of “Interior Design Intern: How to be a Keeper” and co-author of “Seasons of Nauvoo: Year-Round Imagery of the City Beautiful."
As an Interior Designer, professional member of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID), and commercially licensed designer, Jeanette has a great love of anything architecture, design, and art as well as traveling to see beautiful gardens, viewing stunning landscapes, and enjoying historical sites during her travels with Tom.
She loves being married to a photographer because she not only has beautiful artwork adorning her home and office, she has the most fabulous family photo gallery! Jeanette is an avid gardener, loves history, traveling, and staying in beautiful places
