Our Room at Hotel on Phillips
We arrived late and left early so we can’t say much about the Hotel on Phillips amenities…but we can tell you about our room. It was delightful in every possible way.
When we pulled into Sioux Falls, South Dakota, it was the last night of a long travel day during our 12-day trip. Fortunately I had already researched places to stay in the area, so we headed to the Hotel on Phillips to get a room.
Besides looking top-notch on the web, their online reviews were great. We add our review to those already posted. And our room? Read on.

The Room
Our room was one of the “elegant deluxe” guest rooms. When we opened the door, a bright pop of red on the chaise lounge greeted us. (I think it called my name.)
We stood for a moment taking in the décor. The room was designed in classic black and white with shades of gray. Stylish. Stunning. Chic.
The furnishings maximized the space using pendant lamps, compact tables, and seating that doubles as benches. It was an efficient, yet attractive, use of space.
But the most important question about the room is…how did we sleep? Like babies. The next morning, we didn't want to get out of those beds. Must have been the pillowtop and down pillows.
The Bathroom
Who doesn’t love a good shower? Whoever designed this one had common sense. Why do I say that? First, the water controls are opposite the shower head so you don’t get a blast of cold water when turning it on.
Second, it is well lit so you can see what you are doing (especially shaving). Third, there is a footrest built into the corner (perfect for shaving). My bet, the designer was female.
From a design standpoint, I can't say enough about how well this bathroom design works. It was sleek and modern. Once again, design maximized the space making it feel more spacious than it really was.
What We Loved
Everything about our visit was delightful. In short, we felt pampered. After donning bathrobes, we lounged on the chaises, sipped soda, and watched "The Secret Garden" on TV. Definite girls night. But....here's what we loved MOST!
